Modular Test Platform

The MPA® Multi-Protocol Analyzer is an advanced packet optical transport traffic generation and analysis platform specifically designed for the demands of R&D, SVT, and manufacturing testing environments. The MPA provides simultaneous independent multi-port testing from 1G to 400G for Ethernet/IP, OTN & SDH/SONET and Fibre Channel.

Advanced and flexible FPGA based test modules provide future proof hardware support for emerging standards. Supports license based test options.

The following test module options are available:
  • MPM-400DCO Test Module Option (1x CFP2-DCO, 1xQSFP-DD)
  • MPM-400AR Test Module Option (2x QSFP-DD, 2x QSFP56, 2x SFP56)
  • MPM-400G Test Module Option (1x CFP8)

MPM-400DCO Module

  • Supports pluggable Digital Coherent CFP2 and QSFP-DD optics modules including 400ZR, OpenZR+, and OpenROADM
  • 400G to 100G Ethernet, OTN, and FlexE client applications
  • FEC and BER signal integrity testing
  • PAM4 & NRZ SerDes up to 56G
  • Multi-user independent port operation
  • Comprehensive MDIO/I2C and external IO capabilities for transceiver qualification

MPM-400AR Module
  • 2x 400G Ethernet testing per IEEE 802.3bs
  • QSFP-DD transceivers & cables with I2C read/write
  • 8x50G PAM4 400GAUI-8 electrical interface
  • Physical layer & PAM4 signal integrity testing
  • Comprehensive KP4 FEC layer stressing and analysis
  • MAC/Ethernet/IP layer traffic verification
  • Multi-Lane Unframed BERT/PRBSQ PAM4 pattern testing
  • 2x port QSFP56 & 2x SFP56 ports for additional testing capability


MPM-400G Module
  • 400G Ethernet and FEC testing
  • CFP8 port


MPM-600G Module
  • QSFP28-based module supports six independent 100G/40G Ethernet or OTN transport tests
  • The MPA platform supports up to two MPM 600G modules, providing up to 12x 100G test ports
  • Provides advanced test mode operation for next generation applications such as OTUCn which require multiple PHY ports to be used in parallel for a single test application
  • 100GE, 100GE IEEE 802.3bj Clause 91 RS-FEC for SR4, & 40GE
  • OTUCn (n=1-6), OTU4, OTU3, OTU3e1, & OTU3e2
